November Highlights – Wrapping up 2024 with Some of the Most Exciting Events of the Year!
During November, we participated in a variety of events. Our first stop was a Devcon B2B-focused event where we hosted an afternoon dedicated to Web3 gaming activities. As one of the largest game web3 developer conferences worldwide, the event brought together builders, venture capitalists, incubators, and blockchain projects seeking the next innovative Web3 gaming product. Unlike Token 2049, which encompasses a broader ecosystem, this event felt more niche, emphasizing technical discussions and providing opportunities for deal-making.
BGA’s next stop was an event of a slightly different kind – YGG Play Summit – The ultimate Web3 gaming community event taking place in Manila, Philippines, the heart of the web3 gaming community.
BGA Sawadee Event at Devcon Southeast Asia – Bangkok
In collaboration with Liteflow, BGA co-hosted the Sawadee Gaming Event in Bangkok during Devcon 2024 alongside SKALE, My Neighbor Alice, The Binary Holdings, and Taiko.
Being in Asia, the event attracted a global pool of participants, making discussions engaging by incorporating perspectives from both the East and West, as well as highlighting various focuses and advancements.
With numerous events taking place around the city, Sawadee Web3 Gaming welcomed over 200 attendees, with a large mix of 39% game studios and projects and 60% C-level executives, who joined us throughout an afternoon event of talks and game demos and an evening of networking over canapes.

At the BGA event, attendees participated in insightful panel discussions on topics such as next-generation player activation, Web3 gaming trends, and Asia’s pioneering influence on game development. This created opportunities for attendees to connect with various builders across the ecosystem, meet venture capitalists to discuss funding, and identify the best resources for support. The event successfully united the gaming community in a vibrant and collaborative environment, allowing projects to showcase their work while attendees enjoyed hands-on experiences with exciting previews from industry leaders.

YGG Play Summit – Manila – Philippines
YGG Play Summit was the most exciting event, joining real OGs who have their finger on the pulse of bringing educated and enthusiastic players into games. This community-driven event served as the perfect way to conclude a year of industry conferences. It brought the gaming community full circle to where Web3 gaming initially gained traction among one of the largest gamer communities worldwide. The event was filled with enthusiasm as players from the Philippines and beyond came together, showcasing what makes Web3 gaming so special, and BGA was thrilled to be a part of it.

The first day, designated as Industry Day, carried a more business-like tone, with tournaments taking place on the top floor. The main hall saw a series of panel discussions and keynote speeches from various industry leaders. BGA moderated a panel discussion looking at ‘The Next Wave of Opportunity’ and facilitated and participated in roundtable discussions facilitated by YGG and Emfarsis, focusing on various aspects of user acquisition in Web3. Look out for the report coming in Jan!
On the second day, the expo floor opened up, allowing attendees to test, play, and demo a variety of Web3 games. The room was abuzz with enthusiasm, resembling a Web3 version of Gamescom. It was super exciting to see so many players engaging with Web3 games. The Philippines was the perfect host for this event, highlighting the size of the community and the numerous sub-communities and guilds passionate about playing and exploring Web3 game mechanics. While the Philippines holds a unique position in the adoption of blockchain gaming – we need more events like this worldwide!
The week culminated in a red carpet event for the premiere of “Metaverse Filipino Worker,” a documentary highlighting the social impact of Web3 gaming in the Philippines. This film showcased how Web3 gaming has transformed lives and opened up career opportunities that many never thought possible. You can watch the trailer here:
YGG Play Summit brought together key industry players and allowed direct contact with gaming communities. Booths with game demos from Ubisoft, Star Atlas, Avalanche, MapleStory, Rift, Storm, Parallel, and Solana enabled these companies to get direct feedback from the web3 gaming community and give game players the opportunity to meet the teams, play new games, and open communication between player and publisher. BGA was honored to be part of this year’s YGG Play Summit and be a bridge between the communities of players across multiple genres and the many web3 gaming businesses that form the Alliance.

GAM3 AWARDS 2024 by GAM3S.GG – Live event in Manila – Philippines
To wrap up the week, the Industry celebrated the grand finale at the first live GAM3 Awards by GAM3S.GG. The event successfully gathered key players from various sectors of the Web3 gaming community, including game developers, VCs, founders, and industry personalities, to celebrate the best of blockchain gaming. Unique awards were presented for different gaming categories, and as part of the Jury, BGA was honored to present ‘The Best Game Award.’ It was a fun-filled evening that saw many industry OGs take to the stage, with notable projects like The Grid, Pixels, and Pirate Nation taking home the lion’s share of the prizes.
